OVERVIEW

PCS exam is used for recruit candidates for various administrative positions in PUNJAB. The Examination process involves three Stages :

  1. Preliminary Examination ~ Screening test consisting of Objective-type questions.
  2. Main Examination ~ Written Examination with descriptive papers
  3. Personality Test  (Interview) ~ Final stage to assess the candidate’s suitability for Administrative roles.

ELIGIBILTY CRITERIA

Educational Qualification : A bachelor’s degree from a recognised University.

AGE LIMIT : Typically between 21 and 37 years for general category, for SC/ST/OBC Up to 42 years (5 years relaxation) with age relaxations for specific categories as per government norms. Language Proficiency: Candidates must have studied Punjabi as a subject up to the matriculation level. There will be no negative marking. Candidates will have the option to attempt all the papers, except the language papers in Punjabi or English medium.

Exam Pattern Preliminary Examination:

 Paper I (General Studies): 200 marks

 Paper II (CSAT): 200 marks (Qualifying)
